Brian Finnegan tries to our whistle in Re rosewood,
Crocus City Hall, a concert of “Aquarium” group, Moscow, 2014.
As Brian tried our other Flute: Irish transverse flute
(he described it as a flute with a soft, natural timbre),
whistle in key G (emphasized his tone), C, D (see video!),
transverse flute G (“big sound”) and A.
Another tried to whistle in black African wood, but preference
is given to whistle rosewood, as it seemed to him more saturated
overtones – “dirty sound”. A ebony very flat and smooth by the sound.
In general, he liked the flute. With him go to Ireland our whistle in D rosewood and okazima!
We are very glad to get acquainted with such a talented, creative and positive person!

Whistle – folk recorder, widespread in Ireland, Scotland and England – is literally translated as “whistle, flute”. Traditionally, the whistle is made of metal, sometimes made of wood. Whistle has 6 slot openings, the traditional system of key D major. Flute sounds high, collected, and is perfect for play fast tunes!
How to play the flute Whistle:
Take a flute in hands. Fingers of left hand, close the top three slot holes (those that are closer to the whistle): index, middle, ring. Then the fingers of right hand – the index, middle, ring closing the remaining three lower holes. The fingers fall on the opening play tight, but at the same time, do not stress. When opening the holes during the game the thumbs of both hands and the little finger of right hand held the flute. Put the flute to his lips and blow evenly whistle slot at the end of the flute, gradually changing the force of the blast until a smooth sound.
After obtaining stable audio for all the holes closed, proceed to search for the sound of the open hole from the bottom, and so, gradually mastered the sounds of all the holes in a sequential order, go to simple melodies that tell you flute.
Beautiful melodies and joy to you during the development of a magic flute whistle!
